    Critique People Watching

I thought I'd put a few up of last years holidays and my fiirts shots with my new camera 'in the field'. I'm not very experienced in photography, just a snapper thats trying to improve through reading and the images I see on this website, so please take that into account when critiquing them.

Home studio setup with my Stepdad. Practicing with softbox and Speedlights.

Love it, such detail and feeling to the image. You certainly got the expression right and left the viewer wanting to know more about what was happening. My only critique is that the reflection of the softbox in his eyes makes them look a touch weird. Time for another quick edit?

Uninteresting living near a canal path

Does this still happen and if so, when is it? I live very near Pelsall Common but don't recognise where this is. I'd be grateful if you could let me know so I can join and grab some snaps.

    Scotland Isle of Skye

We stayed in Struan, the opposite side of the island from Portee almost six years ago so it may have changed slightly. It was a great cottage and only 1/2 hr across the island to Portee but also good for travelling north and south of the island and cheaper than Portree.

    Beginner Post Prod or not?

Thanks for all your thoughts, I think that'll alleviate the pressure on me to get the perfect picture in camera, although I will try for the best image I can get. Just to clarify, when I said I was a convertee from film, I used to shoot on film and then drop it into boots to get developed...

    Beginner Post Prod or not?

As a convertee from film to digital my ethos is to shoot for the image but I quite often see threads and images that have post production mentioned or discussed etc. I appreciate that some images are beyond whatever is achievable in post production but what are other peoples thoughts? Should...

    Viewing photos on Projector

Ideally you need to know the output resolution of your laptop and the native resolution of the projector, match these and you'll get the best picture quality achievable. If the output of the laptop is too high for the projector, the projector will compress the image and you will lose detail. As...

    Teleconvertor

I wanted to Use it for longer distances so that I can get tighter shots of the subject. I have D7200 and a Nikon af-s 55 - 300 f4 - 5.6.

    Teleconvertor

I am considering the purchase of a teleconvertor, spcifially a Nikon AF-S TC-17E II. I know you lose a step or two but would like to hear thoughts from anyone with hands on experience of using a teleconvertor please.

    Scam or innocent (E-Bay)

Contact Ebay, they will be able to clarify the postage / GSP situation. Check the postcode out on Google maps street view, is it industrial or commercial properties shown? Just keep the buyer in the loop with all your actions and then they have no reason to give you bad feedback. If it we're...

    Singapore and Indonesia

Fantastic group of images. They all take you to the place at the time the shutter release was pressed. You're part of the surroundings looking in.
