Me too for the fountain pens - I use a Parker 51 and love it. I also have a collection of safety razors and straight edge razors. In fact (before my daughter came along) I had a small side business making my own shaving brushes!!

I honestly had no idea what interesting reading this would be when I posted the first question!
So I suppose no one has really answered the key question - is one of these two films superior to the other? Of course disregarding the person controlling the camera/exposure :D
Since picking up a couple of 35mm cameras, I've limited myself to the cheapest film I can find: Kodak ColorPlus 200. I've been buying it for a little over £1 a roll (24exp) and although it does have a slightly odd colour tone, the results have been good:

I've just run an old roll of film through a few times and it seems to be behaving, but the batteries died pretty quickly and that seems to be what's doing it. I'll have to pick up some decent AAs and see. I think when the batteries start to die the camera 'forgets' where it was and thinks it's...

I think the results are good - it copes with low light well and seems to set exposure well in mixed light conditions. However it does have a problem....
24 exp roll - 12 shots came out blank.... the winding mechanism seemed to go a bit haywire and...
I recently picked up a Ricoh FF70 cheaply - it's a point and shoot 35mm, fully automatic

Just bought a 35mm compact from a charity shop and it had a roll of film in the back - I think someone else here recently had a similar conundrum... get it developed or bin it?
I'm interested to know what the last owner took snaps of, but also concerned at getting a mystery film developed...
Not sure I'll be keeping it as I don't really have a use for another camera, but it's in immaculate condition and came with a roll of film for very little money :)
