    Should I work for free?????

If you are getting that then you are doing well :) There has been a lot of changes in the industry and now newspapers buy from agencies on an 'all you can eat' for a set fee basis the returns to photographers have become minimal, to give you some idea my first sale was in 2007 and it was 3...

    Should I work for free?????

This is assignment photography so you are doing this assignment for the race team who need to publicity and they are paying you so yes, you should submit to the papers for free. An alternative situation would be prospective photography whereby you attend the event and take images in the hope...

    Should I work for free?????

Work for free - no certainly not, that would be stupid ...but for many photography is not work, quite the opposite, and like many people that pursue hobbies it's great to get recognition and that's where the point of conflict lies. For many of those whom photography is their work, then the...

    Leica? Not at this price

I'm rather impressed that the £12k collectors jobbie comes with a screen protector (even though the camera doesn't have a screen) http://www.harrisoncameras.co.uk/pd/Leica-M-240-LEICA-60-Digital-Rangefinder-Silver-Chrome-Camera-and-35mm-ASPH-Lens_10779.htm

    The Fuji X-A1, X-A2, X-A3 & X-M1 thread

depends on how you feel about manual focus? I've sold all my fuji X gear except the X-M1 (and 14mm and 27mm lenses) so don't really use it for portraiture, although in the past I've a used a Nikon adapter with a 50mm f2 lens and that's rather nice (and cheap), I also have somewhere a Jupiter 8...

My review of the Meike DR750 battery Grip for the Nikon D750.

just to note The Flash Centre seem to have the best price on these, I ordered one last Thursday (when they were still showing in stock) but got an email today saying that there's a 3-4 week wait from Nikon, now waiting impatiently...

Upgrade from a D70 or wait?

whatever you choose, don't be too quick to let your D70 go, the D70 (and a few others of that era) have an electronic shutter, so you can get nice fast sync speeds with your off camera work

Ello - the new social media thingy

I quite like it, reminds me of the nice simple early days of Facebook, less disposable than Twitter and with just enough substance me: https://ello.co/colda anyone else using it?

Best video camera for recording classical music?

For sound, I use a Zoom H2n for general stuff and a Zoom H6 for more complex recording, that said, by more complex I'm referring to being able to mic up here and there (good enough for a rehearsal session for a small band), beyond that mics are plugged into a my Mackie desk and through to an...
