Octabox for Elinchrom Quadra (and Nikon speedlight via brackets etc)

Cheers guys I hope I haven't jumped the gun (will look at the Ezybox II system more) but I've gone ahead and ordered http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bessel-Octabox-Pop-Up-EL-Fit-Speedbox/dp/B00WC0KA42/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1432722217&sr=8-4&keywords=octabox+bessel...

Octabox for Elinchrom Quadra (and Nikon speedlight via brackets etc)

Thanks Phil I've happily used a Nikon speedlight in a 60cm portable softbox before (for indoor portraits) so might not be such a stretch for a 95cm octa?? Anyway, the main priority is for the Elinchrom quadra head. I think I've managed to work it out. The Ranger quadra heads are tiny and not...

Octabox for Elinchrom Quadra (and Nikon speedlight via brackets etc)

Can anyone recommend an octabox for use with the Elinchrom ranger quadra heads, AND that could possibly be used with a Nikon speedlight via the right adapters/ mounting brackets? I know it can't be too large, but I don't want it to be as it needs to be highly portable for location work. I also...

French Newspaper publishes with no images

Publicity stunt or not, it's bloody effective either way. In an age when everyone (including clients) seem to take photography for granted (and everyone is a 'photographer'), this is really quite powerful.

New Copyright Law in the UK

Thinking about this a bit more, photographers, and unfortunately lawyers, could make a tidy sum from the extra infringements that might crop up if this ever gets through. If you're canny, you will always be able to prove an image is yours if you need to. Reverse image search (google, tineye...

New Copyright Law in the UK

Also, this is another reason why you should shoot in raw, and not give the raw files away if possible. Having the raw is like a digital negative and ultimate proof the original capture was yours. And No one uploads raws to the web do they.

New Copyright Law in the UK

If this gets through, if, I can't see it being much worse than it is now to be honest. What's really needed here is new tech, as we are simply on a downward spiralling fight. The boffins and geeks need to pull their fingers out, and come up with a new way to embed copyright data into images...

    Wireless Lav Mics system

Try the JTS one http://www.themicstore.co.uk/wireless-lavalier-mics/jts-ka-10pack-wireless-camera-mic-system.html I use this now and managed to find it for an absolute steal, about £280 I seem to recall a few years ago. I've used the sennheiser g range in the past, and I honestly think this...

Brinno TLC 100 or 200 timelapse cameras

Bit of a longshot but has anyone any experience of using any of the brinno cams for timelapse? I'm looking for an inexpensive weatherproof solution and these look great. But, it sounds like these precompose the captured stills into movie files, and I need to be able to download individual...

    Jessops Photo

I bought my first digital camera from a Jessops so I have a soft spot for them. I also think its just good news generally that the high street is fighting back albeit in a relatively small way. My only beef is I can't stand Peter jones, so as long as his smug moon face doesn't appear anywhere...

First video; made with GoPro hero 3.

That's really good fella. Music really works, and the video really works with the music. So much so that if you tighten it up a bit, get a bit more variety in there, then it really would feel like the video for the track. Nice work.

Decent Generic Video Settings on a Nikon

Actually, for shutter speed you should follow the 180 rule. Look it up. In a nutshell, your shutter speed should be manually set to double that of your framerate. Most DSLRs shoot at 24fps, the old film standard, so set shutter speed to 50.
