    Peace Bridge. B+W or Colour?

B&W for me, but only by a thin margin

    MyMemory fakes or not?

Another recommendation here. Used them loads of times and never had an issue.

Some railway shots, steam and diesel.

Not so sure about number 2, but I really like the rest. 4 and 5 are just sublime. I'm going to go against the grain too, and say that Deltics are the only EE diesel that I don't like. I have to admit that from an engineering point of view they are stunning, but they just leave me cold. Give me a...

    Diesel Train Engine

Have to agree with Matthew. It's cropped way too tight, and although it's likely to be of use to someone modelling such a loco it doesn't make an awe inspiring picture. It's a little too warm too I think?

Problems with colours from Canon printer

Jamie did you ever get to the bottom of this? I am having the exact same problem, and having done a little research it seems to be particularly prevalent with Macs. Every time I set the colour profile on my printer, it defaults to IJ again, and I get a pink colour cast. Send the exact same image...

    Tyseley Works Open Day

Liking those, especially the contrasting front ends in no2. I see Glorious is still looking worse for wear too.

So how much do RAW files actually weigh??

    Possibly! ;)

So how much do RAW files actually weigh??

Having a week in Bavaria at the moment, and I'm damn sure this camera bag is getting about half a kilo heavier every day. The only thing extra in it since I left home is the image files. I can therefore deduce that they MUST be weighty little blighters!

They're replacing the Focus show with.......

I do hope so, or it just won't be the same.... ;)

Class 50 move Washwood Heath to Barrow Hill 20-06-2013

By the way...some nice photos of an old hero. It'll be nice to see Thunderer back in traffic after it's generator rebuild.

There are plenty living ones out there still  http://www.fiftyfund.org.uk/

    Preserved Diesels

There is indeed. Big passenger diesels were a flash in the pan really in the big scheme of things, and only account for maybe 40 years of railway history before being replaced by various units. It's odd to think that loco hauled trains (with a few minor exceptions) are a thing of the past in the...

    Preserved Diesels

Steam engines are all very nice, but I'm afraid diesels are where it's at for me. My first post here in a while, but I have been shooting a few big dirty diesels lately. Comments welcome (as long as it's not to try and convert me to kettles...) :D 50026 departing Dereham by 5H17, on Flickr...

    which lenses?

The 70-200 f/4L is worth a look too, and used ones can be had for what is really pennies. I got mine for around £350 with the intention of upgrading to the 2.8 later. I've still never bothered to upgrade it...:D *edit... Just read your next post about 300-400mm being preferable. Doh! Read the...

Focus on imaging is no more

Who on earth will I get to kick me in the shins, and whack me with rucksacks now? That kind of abuse costs money you know... (Joking aside, I did quite like the Focus show.... I hope the gap gets filled by something equally large, because it was nice to have everything in one place..just my...
