Non UK New Zealand, where to start?

I have an impromptu visit to New Zealand to change my visa over in a few weeks. I will be there for 7 days and driving in a self contained camper van. I arrive in Christchurch and leave from Auckland. So far my only plans are to head south to lake Tekapo for one maybe 2 nights then down to Lake...

    Nikon D800......

I cant comment on the D810 as Ive never used one. Through online research and so on I've found the D750 is often regarded as the best Nikon for low light. How big the gap between the D810 and the 750 is I just don't know. I'm sure someone on here has used both and could give a more valid...

    Nikon D800......

Nice light and capture, but at those rays added in shop? for me they take away from the beauty of the subject. Amazing head shots also, you continue to inspire me to branch off and try my hand at these types of shots.

    Nikon D800......

I'm going to leave my decision open for a couple of months. I hope that with Photokina around the corner there may be a followup to the D810. If there is and it has upgraded Low light capabilities I may invest that way.

    Nikon D800......

My D800 may be finding its way on Ebay soon. More and more of the photograph that I'm enjoying now is nighttime or lowlight. The D800 is a fantastic camera but the noise in low light is killing me. I'm currently deciding to either go towards the D750 or swap to a first gen A7s

Locked out of my Flickr account

I cant access my Flickr account at all. I've just landed in Australia and when I go to my bookmarked link for my Flick it now gives me a yahoo log in. As I don't have a Yahoo account but a hotmail every time I enter my hotmail email address it says that email is not recognised. I went through...

    Nikon D800......

not sure why but I've stopped getting notifications from this thread, amazing photos have been posted and I'm still so impressed with the talent on here. I'm out of hospital now and I'm looking through locations here in Sydney. Sadly it may be a while before I post anything new. After...

Great app for planning Milky way shots.

True that it needs an android app, but it does work brilliantly on a Apple device. Ive started to plan out astro shots at locations I want to shoot over a year out. Fingers crossed when the time comes I get a cloudless night

Great app for planning Milky way shots.

I came across the below site after stumbling over a youtube video about it. I've had a bit of a play and it appears to be a very clever app for forecasting Milky way shots. I have no affiliation with the company just thought I would post a link as it may be of use to some people. Anyone had any...

Lucky for me it was bacterial. Can't fault the Australian health system either, almost glad I'm here and not back in the UK!

    Nikon D800......

Arrived in Sydney on Tuesday, was looking forward to getting some early shots in but I've been stuck in hospital after coming down with Menigitis. Have to say the health care system has been fantastic and fingers crossed I'l be out of quarantine and released soon. Itching to get some nice night...

    Nikon D800......

Realised last night whilst walking back from dinner we could see the milky way with our naked eye. I grabbed the camera and took a few snaps and had my first real go at editing a milky way shot. I have no idea how to stitch multiple rows of panoramas together so you have no foreground...

Parallel whitish lines in Grey sky

Thanks very much, I'l probably take the image back to the start and watch more carefully the adjustments I'm applying. Much appreciated
