Yes, if you can run PSP without it I really wouldn't bother. By contrast, Nx Studio is quick and reliable, although it doesn't offer a huge amount of adjustements. Jpeg rendering is usually less to my taste than darktable but not always....

For the saving over new I would go new. Printers can be unreliable and a warranty is worth it. Many other papers to choose from, Hmule are top dollar. Innova do some very good stuff, Permajet and PurelyPaper are great retailers. Permajet very helpful technically, PP excellent on price and lovely...

I use DPP because I work with a mixture of Nx-Studio, darktable and GIMP (go figure) and opening a JPG/TIFF with it is the easiest way of feeding PSP, which is excellent. But I wouldn't rate it much otherwise.

If you are that thorough, you sound a go-to guy for false teeth! I assume that's what you need the matching for? In which case, remember to take into account viewing conditions at the dental lab - supply them a viewing box perhaps?
