Hi everyone. Just wanted some constructive criticism on these piccies I took at Redwings Horse Sanctuary recently. I'm still starting out so go easy on me...!!! Thanks :) Here's one of a herd of mares and foals: And here is a cute one just for your pleasure!

He looks a bit sleepy and not very alert. Maybe if you crouched down a bit to take the shot and stand a little bit further back. Maybe you need some one to wave at him to get his attention... Plus I agree that bridle is definitely too small for his head - it does look a bit uncomfortable.

These are really cute. Shetland foals are possibly the best things ever. Looking forward to seeing some more photos!

In my experience its always better to take photographs of horses outside in the field rather than in a stable. It's best to keep muddy areas out of the way... you could kneel down and point the camera upwards so that muddy ground isnt in the photo. I find its best to have a clear background...

Hi everyone Erin I prefer yours to Dod's as I think that the pony looks a bit sweaty and dirty on Dod's photo! I do agree that it needs a little bit of lightening up though. I think a crop would only work if the pony's legs were in the photo a bit more. Looks good though, I like it :-D
