I recently bought a 70-200 F4 L second hand and got these shots the other day, the shutter was only on 1/500th so i'll try and up it for my next lot. But ok for my first attempt.
Also are you using AI Servo or a dynamic shooting mode instead of single shot?

Just what I was after Meeten, I'm hoping it's a nice increase in quality. It seems no matter how crisp my photo's are i feel like i am missing out on quality. Perhaps it's the pixel density or Sensor, but i can't wait to upgrade now!
Thanks Craig :) How would one go about making use of softer lighting? Are you referring to early morning or evening shots when the sun isn't as harsh perhaps? Or are there specific techniques i can make use of?

Very nice. Although I think the two should have swapped positions and come a little closer to the lens as it would make their outfits 'pop' a little more from the colours in the background. Just my opinion :)
Appreciate any feedback :)

Thanks Badger and russell, appreciate the advice.
Well i've just purchased a Canon 70-200 F4 L for Equestrian/Sports photography which should be fine. But i don't think my Tamron 17-50 will fit a full frame mount. Either way, i'm planning on keeping both my 40D & 17-50 for the Inca Trail later...
