thanks for the advice, some good comments as for the 1st shot, to the left of the her was not actually empty space, but another person with the same kind of headdress, with lots of those amber and coral beads protruding into frame (you can just a couple that got in if you look).

these were taken at the 2006 litang horse festival in china, and are some of my favorite of those which i took there. she's perhaps one of the most beautiful women i have ever seen I'm uploading more photos from Litang onto my Flickr account
