Hi all I have been having problems with RawTherapee not decoding RAW images properly. Lots of them either only show half the image, or even less. I have the same problem with DarkTable. They show up fine in camera, and using canons RAW convertor that came with the camera. Having just forked out...

Thanks for all the replies. I'm still really torn. I'd like the Sigma, but I'm shooting with an Eos 100d, and I'm a little worried it'll make the tiny body feel unbalanced. And a 77mm front element may even block the flash! The non vc tamron is considerably smaller. Hhmm.. .

Had a search for CEX, but couldn't really find anything...

So you noticed a vast improvement from the standard kit lens in terms of IQ? How do you find the AF on the Tamron?

When you say it's like having three 50mm prime on all the time, in what respect? From what I've read, and I've done some pile of reading, the non vc version is far superior optically then the vc equivalent. I'm not too fussed about image stabilisation either way, if it come with it, bonus, but...
