I have recently returned from a week in Botswana. The group had a variety of camera makes and some with very high megapixels but none had the reach of the OM1 with the 150 -400 lens which was used for the vast majority of my images.

I shot most of the images on the OM1 Mk2 which had the 150-400 on it permanently. To be honest I did not shoot as many flying birds as I thought I would. On reflection it did seem to obtain and stick to the BIF very well. As for perched birds It may well be better than the OM1...

Hi Bebop. Very few mossies. In fact it was very similar to the September visit. One or two people commented that the lack of rain could cause a food shortage for the animals later in the year. We had quite a few elephant crossings but not as photogenic as last time - luck of the draw. This trip...
I have just returned from my 3rd visit to the Chobe river in Botswana with Pangolin photo Safari's. The last 2 have been on their special deals which cut the cost dramatically. I was a little apprehensive about this visit as it is supposed the be the rainy season (albeit at the end,) however...
Personally I don't think digital will die and I don't think phone cameras are a bad thing. Horses for courses. What will take the joy out out photography for me is AI. Not simple noise reduction and distraction removal but the full introduction of things that were never in the scene. I already...
Horses for courses. I have the OM1 and have just bought the OM1 ii. I also have a good range on olympus lenses. I think the quality of images and usability are spot on for wild life and BIF. As Geoff has mentioned (and he got me into the system in the first place,) there is no need for a tripod...
I am looking at a trip to the Lentorre lodge in Kenya. The cost, when you add flights etc is not insubstantial so research is called for.
Has anyone been? The USP is the night time water level hide. How does this compare to Zimanga which also has night hides.
Any information from someone who...
This September I am planning a landscape/seascape trip to the West coast of Scotland for a week or so in my motorhome. I will be travelling with my greyhound who loves to run on sand so if anyone can recommend campsites on or very near beaches I would appreciate it. I will be travelling from...
