Had the later 80-400mm G series for a while but didn't get on with it, found the AF acquisition slow. Find the 200-500mm much better. Was using both on either a D5 or D500 handheld.
The Mindshift BackLight 45l has a great back mounted tripod carry system (easily manages a Gitzo 4 Series) and pretty deep water canteen side pockets.

Using a Wimberley Monogimbal retro fitted with an RRS Quick Release plate on a Gitzo 4 series monopod. Works really well with the Nikon D5 and 500mm f/4.

Have seen some reports that this was a Piper Cheyenne but the photo confirms it is a Piper Navajo.
