hi. I have the same problem with my Sony 18-250. I solved it with a lens band. Similar to the charity arm bands you can get. You put it over the zoom ring and lens body and it stops the creep but still allows you to use the zoom. I got mine on ebay.

Couldn't agree more. The way i look at it is that I've bought the A77 second hand for less than they go for on ebay used but with 12 months sony warranty. As I said above I'm very pleased with the camera for half the price of a new one, but sony's customer service and quality checks on the so...
