Extender for Canon L Series EF 300mm 1.4 IS

Thanks very helpful. Any thoughts whether x1.4 or x2.0 would be better for wildlife?

Extender for Canon L Series EF 300mm 1.4 IS

I purchased a second hand Canon L Series EF 300mm 1.4 IS lens a couple of years ago which I use with Canon 700D DSLR and, not surprisingly, have not been disappointed. However, I'm often looking for a bit more reach when photographing birds & animals + hope to visit Africa next year, so am...

    Canon 700D kit lens upgrade

Thanks, like the sound of that. How about the Sigma 17-50 f2.8 or 17-70 f2.8-4.0?

    Canon 700D kit lens upgrade

My Sigma UWA lens and recently acquired Canon EF 300mm IS lens cover my top and bottom / wide angle requirements very well but I would now like to upgrade the 18-55 kit lens that originally came with the Canon 700D camera. Doesn't need to be Canon. Apart from just better build quality I want to...

    Sensor Cleaning

Thanks, couple of more questions: 1. What exactly do you mean by "use the proper sensor cleaning kit"? The sensor cleaning function on these camera's works at is shut down, am I missing something else? 2. I deliberately did not mention this before so as not to complicate things but, the 550D...

Filter For Ultra Wide Angle Lens

You'd be surprised - I live on the outskirts of London near Gatwick airport so there's no shortage of light but a good light pollution filter, long exposures and processing sorts it out. However, a good dark sky is better!

Filter For Ultra Wide Angle Lens

Most of my work is prime focus with a telescope and I use internal filters for light pollution and and narrow band light spectrum e.g. Ha and OIII light. https://watchthisspaceman.wordpress.com/ However, I am now branching out into basic wide field imaging of the sky i.e. DSLR + lens on a...

Filter For Ultra Wide Angle Lens

Thanks for the comments - it is the Sigma 10-20 f3.5 DC ultra wide lens which is definitely given as 82mm. The points about the bright sun (is there any type?) is s fair one but though I understand the difference between UV and polariser I'm not sure which would be the better + of wider (no...

Filter For Ultra Wide Angle Lens

Can anyone recommend a low profile 82mm protector filter (i.e. non UV) for an ultra wide Sigma lens + suitable / good / reliable supplier at a competitive price? Thanks.

    Sigma 10-20 f3.5

Lovely lens but I have been unable to get AF to work when Live View is on, other AF lenses work fine so not the camera. Discussed with dealer who doesn't know what the problem might be either + nor do Sigma, so have just returned the lens. Big disappointment.

    Older lenses

Thanks - still seems strange, I would have thought that the inside of a lens would be a sterile environment but obviously not.
