I struggle to hear them these days as well.

My best shot yet of a Gropper. Normally I see them with twigs and leaves and branches obscuring the view.

I was photographing the female Cuckoo on the old stump when I heard the male calling. Within a few seconds he flew in and they mated. One image from a sequence shot on my Sony A9ii and 200-600.

Fascinating creatures. I've just read a book called Endless Forms, about Wasps. Super shots Alf. Your example here is one of the reasons I got into photography. Taking a photo and going home to find something in it you missed or being able to identify something you saw.

I've had an A9 and A7r4a and now have an A9ii. I shoot mainly wildlife but also sports. Get an A9 or A9ii, af tracking is like witchcraft and blackout free shooting.
