The most underrated camera I’ve used in a while

I had the TG-4 a while back, it worked well.

    Bridge Camera Under £500

I would recommend the Panasonic FZ1000 if a good one can be had for the price.

If they only listen to pros then in my view they have it mixed up. A lot of pros using A1s have it bought b their agency. But people like us have to use their hard earned cash to buy it. O they potentially have more invested in it so should have a say.

    Recommend me a 100-400 combo

Park cameras have A9 in at £1069 and Sony 100-400mm at under £1400 so would be within your budget.

Don’t know if it would be that good I I was hand holding it.

    First camera and latest camera

First was a Zenith, now I’m using a Sony A1.

Was your choice the right one?

I changed from Nikon to Sony. I'm happy enough with Sony but if Nikon had got their focus system right in their mirrorless at the start I would more than likely still be with them.

Is it time for a rethink

Jeff, I do not think going back to a d7200 will give you images as good as you are producing now. Stick with what you have and revise it as needed.
