Jessops on the verge of administration

I've visited a couple of them, scarily un-automated compared to what you imagine! But it's also hard to think of a better way of dealing with the huge variety of products they stock in them, turns out a person is the best way to handle it!

    FREE Photoshop.....OR MAYBE NOT? *Update*

Does anyone know how the features/functionalities of Photoshop CS2 (fully featured but very old) compares to something like Elements 11 or 12 (cut down features but much more recent) - I'm thinking that many of the features from PS from 7 years ago have probably made it into Elements by now?

Best photo editing software for beginner.

Depends what you want to do. I find Lightroom does pretty much everything I need it to do and very simply - it's completely non-destructive so you can always roll back to a previous point. It's a great catalogue system and very good for batch application of adjustments, has great abilities for...

    Good compact for snorkling?

If it's just snorkelling then you don't need to worry too much about raw since the blue-cast isn't too pronounced at shallow depths, it'll certainly be within the abilities of jpeg adjustments. The case can be a bit cheaper too since the pressure isn't very great - you could even consider one of...

Is the 17-50mm Tamron non-VC really better than the VC?

Another vote for the VC version, I love mine!

Bridge camera capable of time lapse?

Good point! The team there need a while to make the tools work with the latest firmwares - if you're buying a camera to do a job then you can check on the website if it's supported.

Bridge camera capable of time lapse?

One for the more adventurous out there - most of the (not quite the latest model) Canon compacts can be modified to run things like an intervalometer using CHDK

    Any acoustic guitarists here?

Tangle wood are a great British brand of acoustic guitar - I've got two, and know some of the guys at the company. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone - they have a nice range at various prices so it should be fairly easy to pick one in your price bracket.

    Compact with Raw

Another vote for the Canon S95 - a great price on Amazon at the moment. I've got an S100 on back-order. The Canon G series are great but hardly count as a compact, they're full on bridge types.

Great Asda deal for scanned negs

Asda's still run from Leeds - it's just owned by Wallmart who are pf course American. Any initiatives like minilabs will be a UK/Leeds decision.

    Check Your Amazon Accounts!

Amazon are really good for customer service... Did you speak to anyone there about the problems you've had? Out of interest, did you use the same email/password combination on Amazon as for other sites? With most cases like this it's not the site security that's the problem but the fact you...

    Flash gels

Don't be so sure... I have a couple from each of them!

The universal trigger interface (The little box)

Hi Darren, I'm seriously desperate to try this out! You've done an amazing job and if you think it's got commercial potential then I'd definitely check out kickstarter like someone else suggested. I'm sure you're fed up of people asking this but do you have any idea when it might be available...
