Hi Stuart, sorry for not seeing this sooner. I wish I was but unfortunately I'm in Oxfordshire, but thanks so much anyway. I think the simplest thing is going to be the TZ80 given her needs are pretty simple
Thanks for the suggestions - good to hear others are happy with the TZ70/80.
I don't think I'll be able to convince her to consider used, so the TZ100/200/LX100 probably aren't options - her needs are fairly basic and she just wouldn't value the extra spec/features to justify going used. But...
Hi all
Looking for some help in recommending a compact camera for my mother, as it's not really an area of the market I'm up to date with. She wants a new camera to replace an old(ish) Samsung compact that's playing up - she's not looking for anything particularly special, in her words its just...
As someone sitting in an airport right now and surrounded by people with huge bags,I have sympathy for those who stick to the limits while watching everyone else take on bags that are blatantly over the limits. Same story on my outbound flight yesterday.
I’ve got a range of bags, so tend to...
Im told by my contact in CS that everything is in stock but they're fulfilling back orders, hence the delay. I've sent another request for an update today so will wait to see what's going on and may well cancel if it doesn't look like it'll ship soon.
Thanks for the heads up on them not holding...
Yeah, I've used Cameranu and another Dutch company whose name I forget too. Always had my orders in no more than a few days.
Both times I've ordered direct have been because F-stop came in cheaper. But I'm about to see how much the same order would be with cameranu so may cancel my order...
Six weeks lead time? Sounds like my experience last year...don't think I'd have had the patience for 16 weeks. The three months I waited was bad enough.
All of my order is in stock though (or so I'm told), so there really isn't any excuse for even a three week wait as it is right now.
Just thought I'd post a quick update and heads up to others thinking of ordering from F-stop.
Last year I waited three months for a bag that was on a clearance sale (so would have thought it was in stock), and went through weeks of making complaints before it was finally sorted by someone from...
Looks like you're not getting enough depth of field to keep the whole of the dial in focus. Had a quick read of your other thread where you're using higher ISO - have you opened up the aperture for these shots to reduce ISO?
I'd be looking to use an aperture of f/11-16 depending on how much...
Have had good experience from Cameranu on a couple of F-Stop orders too. Although for smaller orders I seem to remember their shipping not being great value. Also from memory they add a surcharge for any orders not paid by bank charge (and maybe debit card), which isn't obvious until making the...
And if you're booking a whale watching trip, I'd recommend going on a RIB rather than the larger boats. Theyre faster and more manueverable, and seeing the busy larger boats out at the same time I definitely think I got better photo opportunities from the RIB. Also much easier to shoot to either...
Last time I was in Vancouver and Whistler I almost exclusively used my 21mm Zeiss for landscapes and 24mm TS-E for architecture, so your 15-30 should be ideal.
I also had my 70-200, which I used when whale watching. It would have been nice to have something longer for this, but for me...
This probably doesn't help the OP, but just thought Id point out that not all cc companies charge a fee. There are some cards available with 0% fees for foreign transactions - useful if you use a cc abroad or buy online in different currencies. Halifax do one for example.
