Creating natural light with strobes in a bedroom?

If it’s possible, you could try putting a white sheet over the whole of the window and turn the whole window into a softbox. That’ll be easier in a bungalow though than an apartment block! Place the strobe outside and bingo... giant, window sized softbox. If that’s not practical, you might be...

    Canon 24-70 f/2.8L Err 01

It looks like my 24-70 brick is playing up after years of service. It’s popping up an error 01 and looks like the aperture blades stuck stopped down where it was set at f/8. Not yet sure if it just doesn’t like the 5D mk IV (I need to pop it on the mk I just to check) but it looks like it’s in...

    flickr renewal

I’ve not used Flickr for years... wasn’t sure it was even a thing still, after Yahoo! gave up on it. I might log back in at some point and have a nosy, but it had even gone downhill in the latter years of my using it. All that sticks in memory is the incessant spam of “invites” and “awards” on...

SIMPLE SMALL TABLE TOP LIGHTING RIG?

You can use anything you like to provide the light source for the light tent. It doesn't need to be flash. LEDs, halogens, tungsten, compact fluorecent... take your pick. Assuming you're shooting digital, you can adjust the colour temperature in post processing to correct any colour balance issue.

    Epson Stylus Photo PX700W conundrum

I've no links, but I'd be very surprised if Epson's website didn't have drivers and manuals for it.

Workshop Studio lighting - Free - Studio in Preston - 8th March 2015

While I can't comment on this particular instance, I have to say that I've been to many of Brian's events over the years and they've always been well worth going to.

    Canon IPF6300

I've just moved my Canon IPF6300 printer and I've managed to put the bolts that fix the printer to the stand in a "safe place". :bonk: I don't suppose anyone else with the same printer would know what the sizes of the bolts are by any chance? They are described as "O - Main securing bolts...

Canon Pixma pro 9500 A4 borderless

Is it the print driver cropping a little due to the different aspect ratio between the paper and the image file?

    OU or OCA

I considered the OU course some time ago and discounted it due to the feedback that I found for it regarding the nature of its presentation - basically as Photo Plod said above. (I should add that I have studied several other OU courses and found them all to be well presented and arranged). If...

    Camera bag recommendation

Handy link... thanks for that. I'll have a good nosy there!

    Camera bag recommendation

I keep the bulk of my camera kit in a Lowepro Computrekker. Given the amount in there, it is a bit on the heavy side. I'm looking for a more portable solution that I can use for days out, etc, where I don't need to cart the whole works about with me. Something that will ideally take: 5D...

    Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk

Isn't the GFS paper recommended for pigment ink, but not recommended for dye ink?

    VX220, Cooper and C6

 They do look good with the hard top on (especially a coloured hard top - much better than the standard naff silver finish Vauxhall gave them), but they are more fun with the soft top. :D I like number 3, but think it would be better without the nose of the other car showing.

    Recommended A3 Printer

I've got a Canon Pixma Pro 9000 (mk 1) and I can't fault it. I don't print a huge amount of B&W, but I've not found anything to complain about with what I have printed.
