Thats good to know ... I shall persevere with the flash Its Jessops own off camera flash .... normally aimed at the ceiling or wall .. and set for TTL with this though I would say 25% of the time it doesnt fire when it clearly needs to .. or fires and over exposes I have more luck...

I am a beginer .... and opted for the 1.4 and glad I did .... for indoor shots, the amount of times I use f1.4 or f1.6 just to get a low iso and nice shot without needing flash is unreal if you can afford it go 1.4

GNARRRGH I am struggling with indoor child photography you line up the child, you get in position, the flash is ready, you call the child, she looks up, you hit the button ... and the damn flash decides not to go off leaving you with a under exposed shot. SO .. more and more I forgo...

Fortuneately your lansdscape is a all a blue colour and strangely similar. this works in your favour, I would up the brightness, saturation, luminance of the entire picture THEN return the lanscape back to the original by desaturating, and reducing the luminence on the blue spectrum...

I have the 450d and only have a couple of complaints (1) Its not that great at low light, even with a f1.4 lens, the fps and and iso can still be a bit grainy ... but then I compare this to a mates full frame camera which is remarkable in no light (2) Fast lenses are more expensive on the...

for me its speed if they did a decent zoom lenze that could step down to f/1.4 .... and only cost £300 then I would snap it up well ...... at that price the quality would be arse but speed and Price for me !

(1) buy a longer lens, 55mm is way to short unless you want to get very wet (2) off topic, but they have some really weird fish in tanks ... buy a cheap rubber lens hood so you can squish your camera up against the tanks and get some great pics inside the tanks without getting reflections off...

again another thumbs up for Aperture ..... I use it 99% of the time and only ever delve into the photoshop when I want to cut the heads off of people and stick them somewhere else

Good choice .. the 50mm 1.4 is my favorite lens .... I cant fault it. I am using it on a 450d, the quality and DOF is great .... I was going to buy a Flash next, but since having the 1.4, I havent even as much touched the onboard flash, this lens is so fast.
