    Nikon D3xxx owners thread

I've only had mine 6 months so I hope it's not pushing up daisies just yet :)

Cheers for all that. Very useful. I really need to try auto ISO, its the one thing I still often forget to change and has ruined several potentially good shots.

Excellent I was hoping you would say that as its likely to be my next lens. Nice tip with the VR too. Cheers.

    Marks, Set, Go!

Realy like this. Prefer the mono. Who would have thought Dartford tolls during the day could make for such an interesting shot.

    Favourite non-alcoholic drinks?

Love smoothies and Mars milk. Cherry 7up or a real treat a peanut butter malt milkshake, which is just the greatest liquid beverage there is!

    Black Backgrounds

Thanks for that link. Some good reading and I managed to get a couple of ok shots last night by following the suggestions in there, although it does seem more suitable for off camera flash. If I get results with a nearly decent black background, are there any straight forward ways in PP to...

    Black Backgrounds

I love looking through this forum, some of the pictures people put up are incredible and really inspire me want to take better photographs, rather than just snap shots. With these dark nights at the minute and being stuck indoors everything is still life practice and trying to learn the...

I've recently bought the 35mm and really like it. It's a massive low light improvement over the kit lens and you can get some very good shallow DOF shots it that's your thing. I wouldn't go for the first one as there is no autofocus with it in the D3100.

My most viewed photo on Flickr yesterday.........

Ahhh I see, so you have to have a pro account for it then.

My most viewed photo on Flickr yesterday.........

Some great shots in here. Quick question though, how do you know which is your most viewed picture today? I can see how many total views my pics have had (booger all) but not on a daily basis.

Depth of Field with 18-55mm kit lens

This is one from when I first got my D3100 and was just messing around learning what things do. I know it's not a great shot but does show that you can get some shallow DOF with the kit lens, but you do need to be fairly close to your point of focus. DSC_0035 by Jonjay3100, on Flickr
