    Which course would you take?

Google is your best friend! learn the basics, go out practice, identify problems, come back and research again. Also, When I was learning, I found looking at the Exif on flickr very useful, try analysing why the photographer used this particular setting, what effect does it have on the outcome...

    little advice on lens here.

Both the 50mm & 85mm are handy portrait lenses. If you're not buying them specifically for studio portraits, I'd suggest the 50mm as its small, fast and pretty good to walk around with.

Fantastic shot! These type of portraits are so fun! I'd maybe include a bit more details in the background tho, more clues to figure the story out :P

Which of my lenses for nightclub photography??

Hey there Tim! I've been doing photos for nightclubs for a while so I'd like to think I know a thing or two about night club photography :P IMO the best lens for nightclub photography would be your 18-55 kit lens..because: 1. it gives you the wide-ish angle at 18mm for that crowded club...

[HELP]Flashgun firing but photo's not exposing.

Hey everyone thank you for your help! I tried the flash on my friend's 500D again and another 1000D and non of it works anymore. I've noticed there's a large bit of the silver coating missing on the front pin of the flash. The Exif says Flash was fired but the flash activity is Unknown(133)...
