Thankyou for your compliments, you’re very kind. I’m no expert at all, but I use a 75-300mm lens, good lighting and a nice fast shutter speed as the little birds move quickly! Single point focus helps too. But, that said...far and away the most important thing is good fieldcraft and respect for...

I’ve had a torrid week trying to photograph these little guys, and a firecrest I chanced across, but am really pleased with this morning’s effort! They never seem to sit still :LOL:

I’m not counting record shots and hoping all the images will have at least some photographical/artistic merit. And after some deliberating I’ve decided to use the BOU ‘British List’, but not include the ‘rarities’. Hopefully should all be alot of fun!

I’ve started a new blog to help improve my writing, and help put my images into context and also have (perhaps a bit ambitiously :help:) set myself a challenge to photograph all the birds of the United Kingdom, which I’m hoping should be a fun experience and interesting to plan! Other than...

Took the camera out again this weekend, and whilst the otters were not to be seen...I was fortunate enough to stumble across this lovely male bullfinch. Twenty five minutes of stalking and crawling along riverbanks eventually got me close enough to capture this beautiful bird - I just hope I did...

Thank you so much for all your feedback chaps, it’s much appreciated! I’ve been out again this weekend, sadly again in rather poor light, so have taken all your advice on board, not restricted the ISO and hope this has given slightly better results. I’ll be interested to hear your feedback :)
