    Printer Recommendation

I bought a Canon TR5860 which is pretty fun so far. Just a quick question, when I print single sided and when I print duplex I get different tones (duplex is colour instead of grayscale). Any idea why? Also - if I just am printing black and white and want to print only in grayscale, is it...

    Printer Recommendation

Thank you, I'm having a look now, Yes, it seems that you can't use duplex with the rear load, which is where A3 paper has to go. It's fair to say I'm asking a lot, that's ok - that's what I came here to learn. Good to know! The iP is a good printer, but (like almost all Canons) won't...

    Printer Recommendation

Unfortunately that is substantially more money than I want to spend, as in 3-4x as much. Epson seem to make a number of printers that can print A3 and 2x sided XP1500 and P405. I hear Epsons are a bit finicky and aren't super robust. If I didn't need A3, and was fine with just A4, would that...

    Printer Recommendation

Hello all, I am hoping that some friendly and knowledgeable people might be able to point me in the right directions - there's a lot of printers, ink and paper out there. I would like to buy an inkjet printer so that I can make my own artist books at home. These books are usually 16 printed...

    Film Developing in the UK

I want to send some 35mm negs off to be scanned well. I'm happy to pay <£5 per neg, but don't really want to pay ~£10 a lot of places charge. Anyone have any recommendations? It's black and white film (if that makes a difference). Perhaps I should just print in the darkroom and scan the...

    RA4 tabletop processors

I posted there too, just wondering if there was anyone here who might have used the machines before

    RA4 tabletop processors

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a RA4 processor and have found 3 I could buy: Ilford ICP42, Durst RCP40 VSN or a Durst RCP 20. I just want to make small prints (never bigger than an 8x10 size) and have something that's dry to dry and doesn't use too many chemicals. I've been using the Rapid Eye...

    RA4 tabletop Processors

Thanks - I'm actually moving back to Australia so finding a unit there is a bit more convenient. If washing and drying is pretty easy then I think I'll go for the Ilford ICP40 - it seems to be a reliable unit and I've found a manual for it with instructions for pretty much every part.

    RA4 tabletop Processors

Cheers man. Trying to find info on these processors is really really hard.

    RA4 tabletop Processors

Thanks for the suggestion - I've never learned how to wash or dry. I presume drying is easy (either leaving it to dry or a hair dryer I've seen used), but washing might be a pain. I'll have a look again at the Nova stuff and see what it's like. The reason I'm a bit picky is that I really only...

Need help making a kind of panorama

Hey guys, I have a really simple question - but googling isn't really helping (I suspect because I don't have the right key words to use in the search). Basically all I want to do is have 3 separate images and put them together so that they are side by side, but separated by a white strip. As...

    Travelling with film

There is no reason to worry. I travel monthly with film, and even film that's been scanned 6-8 times hasn't ever had a problem. I shoot 160/400 ISO. Maybe if she's shooting 1600 or something it's more sensitive.

    Film Developing in the UK

For develop, scan and prints it was 14 Euro a roll, which is about par with what I pay in pounds in England. I'm sure with just scanning, or just prints it'd be about 10-11 Euro, which is pretty reasonable. Not ASDA level cheap, but it's a small shop run by great people.
