My picture is being used without my permission. How do I resolve?

Of course you're right, but approaching them with tact and politeness might possibly open up more doors than getting arsey and slapping them with an invoice for peanuts. They have broken the law and shouldn't be thanked, you're absolutely right, but sometimes it's best to see what you can get...

My picture is being used without my permission. How do I resolve?

If it was me i'd forget about the £39 and try and turn the situation to my advantage. As it's promoting a tour why not drop them an email saying you noticed them using your image, thank them for the credit, and then enquire about some photo passes for the tour. Who knows where it might lead.

    Problem to be Solved

I'm not familiar with studio lights but with speedlights you'll be limited to the 1/250th sec sync speed of the D3. I can understand if its happening at 1/300 but under that should be fine

    Moon Shot

I agree. The best moon shots i've got have been 1/250th @ ISO 800 using spot metering. If you're in aperture priority spot metering is a must otherwise your camera is trying to compensate for all that black, and you want black as contrast makes good moon shots.

    Moon Shot

You therefor either have camera shake by wobbling the tripod, a focussing issue or 1/60th isn't fast enough to capture the moons movement.

    Moon Shot

It's a little soft. Exif says ISO 100, f/5.6, 1/60th @ 300mm. I'd guess this was handheld, if so crank your ISO up to 800 which should give you a better shutter speed. 300mm isn't going to give you a great result on moon shots but the above should improve the shot :) EDIT: Also use spot...

In local park 10 to judge

I don't think you are are going wrong at all. I have two kids, a little younger than yours but not alot, so i appreciate how hard it is to get decent photos of them. I think you're being a little hard on yourself. From a session at the park you're not going to get a great photo in every frame...

    Strikers

Right. My final comment in this thread. Firstly thanks to Steep, Willbaroo, Kipax and Simmotino for posting in my absence. I'm glad i'm not the only one who can see what's going on here. Secondly thanks Matty for the ban. I was struggling to see your point of view regarding Royal Mail...

    Strikers

From the rest of your comments it obviously takes one to know one ;) So just because we are in a so called recession and "be thankful we have a job" we should roll over and take the bullying? Grow up! YOU should be thankful you don't need a union. I was against the strikes until 3 days...
