My first attempt at moon stacking.

If that was handheld for 24 images, it's remarkable. For me it's overprocessed and oversharpened. May I ask what stacking software you used?

Geese in flight + autumn colours

Stunning photograph, Paul, birds are nice and sharp against those pastel colours. I like the drama of the third goose trying to catch up!

    Ransomware-Safe Backup Question

I would be interested to know how many people offering suggestions here have tried (and had success) with restoring their backup files to a rebuilt system. I ask this because the one time you find out that your backup isn't adequate is when you need to restore it. I had a problem last year with...

    Phono pre amp

If you're not into Hi-Fi then almost any phono pre-amp will do as it simply amplifies signal and applies RIAA equalisation. I use Cambridge Azur Phono pre amp - no probs for years. I also read that the NAD preamp is good value and can handle M/M and M/C.

Perhaps the Data Commissioner would be interested in this abuse of data collection...... or not.

    ASUS beeping away

If this was my computer, I would suspect the motherboard. You may find that going through all the reinstallation of drivers, the fault reoccurs after you boot from cold. I keep image backups of all my working systems to avoid having to reinstall windows+ updates just to get back to square 1.

    New Computer

If you have the time and patience, it is much more satisfactory to build your own PC. What I do is buy the Motherboard, CPU and memory as a complete assembled, tested and guaranteed unit. Buy my own case, PSU, Hard drive (or SSD), Operating System (if you don't already have one) and graphics...

How to backup just the new stuff?

Hi Neil, may I make a couple of observations as I've used Synctoy in the past when I was faced with a similar problem. All went well when I copied from source to destination. I then thought I'd be smart and synchronize in both directions (doh!). Things didn't go so well after that and I...

Dell All in One PC won't turn on

If that doesn't fix it then it looks like you will need another motherboard (evidence elsewhere suggests that this model has issues). Good luck with your repair resolution.
