Still a little confused...
Are we saying that if I set to 16 seconds that it will lock the metering/exposure for the time until I fully depress the button and take the shot (and then reset) ?
Also if I change it to four seconds what will that do?
I shoot with a Canon 7d and a Canon 5d and have same issue with both
In the menu theres a setting for how long the metering applies for
I think the default is 16 seconds
Now Im outdoors and shooting in a football stadium
I have to move from shooting people on the front row of the stadium in...
I think you're doing great mate

The new lights look great btw
Studio will be portrait, fashion and glamour.
Will also be shooting bands and basic music videos
Lighting is two sets of studio lights with umbrellas and softboxes and a ringflash
Size is 30 foot by 15 foot in main area which is painted matt black on walls, floor and ceiling
Hi all
Am looking for your suggestions as to what to have in my new studio
I dont mean lighting, but instead I mean backdrops, props, chairs, rugs etc
What would you say is essential?
I shoot with a 1.8 an find it fine
A 1.4 would be totally suitable for gigs - even really dark ones.
I shoot bands and gigs pretty much all week and never have an issue at 1.8 so go get a 1.4 and enjoy
ps I moved from a 2.8 to a 1.8 and the difference blew me away...
Have to say that reading some comments and critiques on the internet is showing that photography is steadily being infiltrated by geeky techy folk who want to show their technical knowledge rather than their pictures!
In an ideal world someone would post their shots and get a few suggestions...
