    Street? Photography.

Thanks guys - I wrote that book! Yes, it's on Amazon and you can get a signed copy directly from me. I also wrote '52 Assignments: Street Photography'. Please check out my website and blog for all things street photography! Also my YouTube channel, which is fairly new but I'm trying to produce...

    Looking to build a Website

Wordpress themes from Graph Paper Press are pretty good and work well with Photoshelter (either if you use it now or wanted to add it at a future date). They are very tuned-in to what photographers need. I use the 'Albedo' theme: http://www.lloydduckett.com

    Website Feedback please ..

Agree with most of the above. Also I'm not convinced by the word 'Capture' as part of the business / website name. It's a negative word, and although it's widely and acceptably used by us photographers, I can't help feeling that it's wrong for Joe Public. If somebody offered to capture my kids...

    Visiting London next weekend

Brick Lane / Shoreditch area is great for street photography. And while you're here, it's worth checking out the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize at the NPG :-)

To battery or not to battery

I was given one of those Calumet monoblocs to test and I got the strong impression it wouldn't stand up to hard use out in the field. Personally, I would buy second-hand Elinchrom or Bowens (eBay) and you'll have better built, longer lasting and more versatile kit. All IMHO of course :-)

    Pocket Wizard help

Thanks guys. I've now tried just about everything and think the only fix is at link another PW to the 2nd speedlight, so that everything is driven by the PWs. (I think I'll stick to Profoto in future though ;-)

    Pocket Wizard help

Is anyone on here a Pocket Wizard expert? I usually use Profoto portable lighting (which always works a dream with PWs), but tried it today with a copuple of Canon 580 EXIIs and it went a bit wrong as follows . . . - PW transmitter of top of camera (EOS 1D IV) - PW receiver linked by cable...

    what course

I would strongly recommend doing a theoretical course first - probably GCSE, A Level, City & Guilds or similar at your local FE or HE college. You'll learn to think, visualise, see, light, compose, expose etc before anything else which, IMHO, is priceless. I suspect that many of the more...

Ha! Yes - I think we all share similar views on that one ;-)

    Ways to make money

You're right. Unless you're a working press photographer, you don't get in. And I reckon about 1% of members put the BPPA logo on their website.

    Ways to make money

The whole point about this guy having the logo on his website is that it's misleading the public. These people could reasonably assume, by having an apparently recognised 'kitemark' on his website, that he is competent enough to me a member of a legitimate trade body. He appears not to be so...

    Ways to make money

Unfortunately Pete, too many people want everything on a plate and are not prepared to put the time and effort in to get there. I feel we're wasting our time here, as the advice is clearly not being listened to. Not even a 'thank you' for taking the trouble to offer advice in the first place. I...
