Experimenting in an impressionist/pointillism direction. All critiques welcome.

Getting there; Of course, in this heat there's barely a whisper of a breeze to move some foliage for me.

I did one while using zoom. It ended up a bit ike a 60s sci-fi timetravel. It is really open to eperimentation.

Thanks for that! It's great to see someone independently do it a differeent way. Minee is possibly more camera-cetric than his, but I'm planning to eperiment with large format on this. Sometimes for me my digital is a proofing tool! His approach is a very good one indeed, and his final product...

Cheers. I have a few good few that I've played with. This one could d with a bit more light, and maybe just a bit more sharmness, along with a cuple of subjects in the frame. It's fun to work with wht little you have.

OK, first to casess: I'm fighting a nast conditionn which is restricting me to home until I get the all-clear. Hence I have little to play with other than the back garden (which is happily going to seed as I cannot tend it at the moment. Whatever, I have tried to make something of it -...

    Post processing preferences?

Oh, well if wwe're speaking infra-red then we may as well throw in some Aerochrome III and some space lasers. Of course filers can be used to reveal dramatic cloud formations or to highlight them, but they don't create them.

    Post processing preferences?

A filter doesn't provide drama. I'm not speaking of graduated filters, something I wouldn't use. I'm simply speaking of the right filter to provide more definition in the sky. Filters for this purpose are more in the line of corrective measures than enhancements. The failure of many monochrome...

    Post processing preferences?

Why would you need to wat until post-processing? If you want clouds and/or a dramatic sky then the time is when you're taking the photo. A yellow or orange filter can make clouds pop.

    Hazard a guess.

I'd hesitate to guess, but one thing that I'd tentatively suggest is that the proportion of film photographers who develop at home is probably greater than it was in the heyday of analogue. Development was speedy and generally reliably good back in the day. Nowadays it is such a significant part...

    Happy New Year Everyone

I dunno. This year at midnight I found myself spiralling in a very dark place need. All I was conscious of were the negatives looming in my life. Daguerres everywhere pointing at me. Have a great 2026, all!

Exactly What has gone wrong here

It does, and I have a prism too, but I guess I screwed up.

O Ah, the focus mistake is all on me. I was using a Mamiya 645CM.
