To be honest this was a very difficult shoot for many reasons. The models complete lack of experience was certainly a hindrance . Her facial structure, quite round and 'puffy', plus very dark rims under her eyes was problematic. I tried to bring a bit more structure to the face with perhaps...

I have a sigma 24-105 art on my D810 so not apples to apples but, it is by far my most used lens. My walkabout lens so to speak. However, I don't see why you would need it unless you sell all your other lenses, you're completely covered in that focal range. I dunno ?

Thanks all for your comments. I agree and disagree about the blanket/shawl. I asked her to bring a shawl and she was very fond of this one so we used it. I like the pose it inspired but I do wish it had been a lot brighter. Tried to blow it out with another strobe but that wrecked everything...

Finally got around to trying this, and it works just dandy..Flash in TTL and trigger in manual the power can indeed be changed by the Xpro. The flash itself stills reads TTL and doesn't reflect any changes but that doesn't matter at all. With the trigger in ttl then a tcm conversion the manual...
