Thanks Sassaffras. I like the Ricoh, but the canon G7x is in the same price range but with a faster wider lens. Albeit according to the reviews almost unusuably slow.
Actually it doesn't have to be fixed, it can be a zoom so long as it's fast, f2 minimum. 24 or 22 wide would be good. I like the look of the canon powershot G7x but it's pricey & sluggish.
Thanks for replying Mr perspective - the fuji x100 looks great and fits the bill except for the 35mm (for 35mm format) equivalent focal length which is a bit restrictive for indoor use (on occasion I shoot creativly designed interiors).
