I know what you mean about these lenses as id set my sight on the sigma 70-300 until i then saw a read up about the canon 55-250 so i was then thinking which to go for and im now leaning towards the canon due to the IS it comes with
What does this mean please as was looking at a sigma lens earlier that i was thinking of buying and it mentioned this as not being used much for this.
Lens was a sigma 70-300mm APO DG
At moment a few hundred pounds eric, what i would go for if i had the funds would have to be the canon 70-300IS as have heard good raves about this lens
Out of the lenses i put up theres 2 that id be looking at to compliment the lenses that i have but thought id put a few more up to get your thoughts on those 2, plus any i may have overlooked.
Im looking to add a telephoto lens to my kit and woundered which of these below you would choose.
The camera is a canon 30D
Canon EF 75-300mm USM MK III f/4.0-5.6 Lens Ultrasonic
SIGMA 28 - 300mm (f/ 3.5 - 6.3) DG - ZOOM LENS
Sigma 18-200mm f3.5 -5.6 DC zoom lens
Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6...
To add my point, i was looking at the canon 17-85mm and the sigma 17-70mm and opted for the 17-70mm.
just wish i could get pictures of mikeyb quality with it now
I personally like sigma lenses but cheap isnt always good so would like some advice on quality that they produce as not looking to keep changing lenses as the cost involved can soon mount up.
Thank you for your comments so far.
I mainly shoot family and at arenas and shows for koi carp at moment, some are inside some are out in daylight but this would also depend on weather when outside tie ambiant lighting
