Happens a lot to me where you see a spot in the woods from a distance that has potential, by the time I get to that location then it just doesn't work anymore.
I tend to prefer light & shadows and if there is any mist then even better [emoji4]
A friend of mine bought a Sigma 10-20 and he lent it to me to try out, I was very impressed with the results and bought one myself the following week.
Had it for a couple of years until I sold it as I'd bought a full frame camera and replaced it with the Nikon 16-35.
I'd personally recommend it
I also found it tricky to attach the polariser to the accessory ring in the field, only takes a slight misjudgement to lose an expensive piece of glass.
To that end mine is attached to a foundation kit permanently.
When not in use the polariser/ foundation kit combo is wrapped in a microfiber...

Just getting used to a new lens so although my technique may need work I think a lens adjustment is in order, front focusing slightly I think
Did mine yesterday, cream plain wall, good light through the window and a little extra from the ceiling light.
Mrs took my mug shot using my iPhone. You have to ensure no shadows and whilst I tried there was a light shadow visible but a quick re-position of the phone ensured that fell out of...
I would also take my camera when I go abroad, Nikon D750, usually with my 24-70mm & 70-200 and flash, filters etc.
All goes in hand luggage with the exception of my tripod which I tend to find room in my suitcase for.

It really is funny, some friends and I go out regularly and we tend to shoot similar stuff and obviously end up with the same subject a lot of the time. It's amazing how we all have different visions of the same subject.
