Backing up SD Cards whilst travelling using tablet

I also saw the performance complaints - I was looking at the WD03 and someone did some speed tests and got average speeds of around 7.4MB/s, so it would do a full backup (32GB) in under 1 hour 15 mins. Not ideal, but typically will be backing cards up at the end of the day in accommodation...

Backing up SD Cards whilst travelling using tablet

I am looking at Method 1 - just wanted to check, does it copy directly between the SD card and the USB HDD? It doesn't copy them to the iPad first and then back to the USB HDD or something silly like that? (as I wouldn't have enough capacity on the iPad.) Thanks

Backing up SD Cards whilst travelling using tablet

Definitely not enough space on the iPad as it is 16GB. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00TI3WQJS/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2K5N8OOS6B1V2&coliid=I1YRTL3PMTGL67&psc=1 This seems to be a good option - I believe this will allow me to copy the files from the SD card to the USB HD...

Backing up SD Cards whilst travelling using tablet

Thanks for the suggestions. This sounds perfect. I already have a USB HDD. So just to be sure, using this device I can simultaneously connect the USB HDD and SD card, then connect via wifi with phone or iPad and transfer files between the USB HDD and SD card?

Backing up SD Cards whilst travelling using tablet

Hi all, I am going to Thailand in November and don't really want to take my macbook pro with me, would much rather take my iPad air instead. Does anyone know of a solution for backing up SD cards using an iPad? Ideally to a USB hard drive? Not sure if there is some sort of device that would...

Software to preview wall art to scale

Reliable in what sense? There's definitely other factors to consider that software wouldn't (ambient lighting, true colours of the print etc), but I think a tool like this would be beneficial in visualising the scale and layout of wall art - if not for the photographer (who may find this easier...

Software to preview wall art to scale

Hi, I am looking for some software to help preview and design wall art (canvas and frames etc) to scale. I have seen Preveal which looks almost perfect - except it is an iPad app only. The same developer does some software called Swift Galleries, but this seems to be canvas only with no...

    Nikon D750 & D780

Not experienced the issue even though it says my serial is affected, and to be honest, not sure I trust sending my camera to them. Had issues with my last D750 which Nikon tried to fix 3 times, failing miserably and taking weeks too. Terrible customer service - updates on the fix time were...

    Alternative to Colorama

Mainly storage - and that buying a whole load of colours would cost a fair bit with them being ~£40-45 a roll. I will have to try shooting on grey rather than white, but the particular image I was trying to swap the background on was dark hair against a white backdrop and couldn't get rid of the...

    Alternative to Colorama

Thanks for the suggestions. I had tried to replace the background in post, although was struggling to separate the subject from the background (shot against white) - the main issue being I like to shoot portraits with a shallow DoF and was having a halo effect left around the subject as the...

    Alternative to Colorama

I am looking for an alternative to the colorama paper rolls (with the massive variety of colours) - perhaps coloured card in a variety of colours, that does not need to be huge, as it would be used mostly or headshots. I like these style of shots...

    Reflector stand recommendations

So there's 4 holes depending which angle you look at the grip from. 2 large and 2 small. The slightly larger hole of the 2 small ones grips the pole firmly. Not sure if the pics help but see below.

    Reflector stand recommendations

Sorry for not replying sooner. The stands are pretty lightweight but should be ok just for a reflector, and the price. (I have the same one) Also, you probably did get the wrong hole as above. I did exactly the same thing when I got mine and took a few goes to get it right - but it will...
