Looks interesting I’m sure the price will be similarly interesting. Would love someone to make lens that had the character of the Nikon 58mm. I always envied that lens.

Well that depends how much people are clued up. Only 780 new grey and mpb trade in is just over 600 for an excellent/as new. EBay has such a variety of sold in the past 3 months from 660-900. The later I expect are actually new. Fb market seems to be 700-750 with the odd outlier on each end(...

I’ve decide to stay away from Samyang as I’ve not had the best experience. For the budget unless your very lucky buying used you would be looking at Viltrox 35 1.2.. slightly more than 500 grey and huge, but seems to get good reviews. Sony 35 1.8 decent lens but nothing special Sigma 35f2 seems...

The 50 1.2 is going to be my only expensive lens for a while. I know this would be well over budget, but a 1.4 can be got for cheap enough used. I thought my tamron 28-75 was sharp enough but the new body and 50 are making me question this May have to look at the g2 version

I have an issue where if I know something is better and I can afford it i won’t get past it, regardless if anyone else would notice, this is in everything not just photography

Just realised I hadn’t read it properly it was the Viltrox in the video I watched which seems even bigger. Think I will go for the sigma 85 if I get another 85 it seems to be the best compromise between size/weight, cost and performance

Was just watching a video of this and thought it might be a nice companion May just go for the Sony instead

50 arrived today and boy is it big and heavy I knew everyone said this and size wise it is fine it’s the extra heft to it that surprised me. Super sharp even at 1.2 as expected. The mandatory pic of my best buddy View: https://flic.kr/p/2s6Az6q

I had the range set for what I thought was for auto but I’m guessing that’s just the general iso range. Sorted now.

Unless I’ve missed a setting since buying the new camera it seems the lowest iso the a7v can go is 100. What’s the max shutter speed with the a1 in electronic shutter? I know in I had a few instances of hitting max when using my 85 1.4 when on Nikon, but that was without an electric shutter. I...

A7v I would have thought on a bright sunny day( especially on holiday) that at 1.2 max shutter speed wouldn’t be enough at times (I do forget that it’s 1/16000 on electric) What about for video? I’m interested in having a first dabble with that
