First attempt at HDR - Craster to Low Newton

I think you can be happy with those, you haven't fallen into the trap of going too far overboard with it which is good.

    Ibis

Didn't look at the category and I was half expecting a photo of a hotel!

    Lowestoft Beach groyne, LE sunset

You're right, the signs don't add a lot, but it might look a bit obvious if you cloned out a section that large. Lovely otherwise.

Critique New nifty 50 and a low key selfie NEW EDIT ADDED

I like the way the light has caught your eye. Possibly a touch dark for my tastes but as you say that seems to be a Photobucket issue.

    RAF Mildenhall/Lakenheath 13/04/15

Are you actually in the ground of the bases taking these? Can anyone go and do it? Seems like it would be pretty cool to see.

After years in the wilderness, I'm firing the shutter again!

Any idea whatthe concrete pillar used to be part of? Seems like an odd thing to be sat next to a very flat bit of water.

    Flamingo Feathers

I like it being a triptych, helps to add a bit more context than a single image.

Critique My First Post or Portrait by a Novice!

Nice and sharp and the right parts are in focus, so you're certainly doing something right! Personally, I feel that in the first picture the TV on the left is a bit distracting. In the second photo I would prefer to see the whole head instead of having it cut off on the hair. It's a personal...

Blea Tarn in the Lake District last night

I live close by so it's an easy one for me to head to at night when I see the skies are clear. It's very, very rare to see another photographer up there at night which is surprising because it's easy to get to.

Colwith Force in Little Langdale, Cumbria

That was the aim this time around. Hundreds of people visit this waterfall every day (though most don't climb down the rocks to this vantage point) so I wanted to do something different.

Buying a lens from USA, tax cost?

I buy a lot of stuff from overseas and it usually ends up being around 25%. HMRC list their exchange rate so you should be able to work it out from that: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/exchange-rates-for-customs-and-vat The VAT is meant to be charged on anything over the £15...

    Round flash portraits

It's a lovely effect, works really nicely on their hair. Impressive post processing on the skin as well.
