I'm happy with the Tamron, the cheap 200mm is a bit poor though. Reach is reasonable most of the time but it's a bit slow!

Yup! Fair point. I'll edit my post, looked at too many things. I'm not too fussed about the flipping screen, not used it as much as I thought I would. The one thing I don't like about the D5100 is hunting through menus to change ISO and stuff.

Ha! Well I have a Nikon 35mm f/1.8 that I am thinking of selling an replacing with something more like a kit lens but of better quality. I do like the 35mm but it is a bit limiting for me!
