Got these dial settings for the power output in the end from Lencarta
Setting 5 = 1/32nd power
Setting 5.5 = 1/16th power
Setting 6 = 1/8th power
Setting 7 = 1/4 power
Setting 7.5 = 1/2 power
Setting 8 = 1/1 power

I purchase second hand Lencarta studio smart flash III a while ago and have only started to play about with it recently. I don’t have an instruction manual to go with it but from searching on the internet it says it has 5 stops of light adjustments.

How did you choose your focus point...
Do you use back button single focus and recompose. or did you choose the focus point closes to the eye and took the shot...Whilst this was happening the subject may have adjusted themselves causing the out of focus.
Its pretty easy...Just do a search on bokeh shaped lights in youtube everything you need to know is there.
To work out how big you need your shape to be I find It will vary depending on the focal length of the lens used and the aperture used.
Smaller the f numbers the better or the lowest...

DIY Bokeh Shapes..I tried this out for the first time on the christmas tree lights. ..Really happy with the results...can see this being applied to other lightings and the shapes can be whatever you want it to be.
I ve given photoshop a go and have cropped out the bottom bit. To be fair its not the sharpest of image with quite a lot of grain but I do like the lighting on it.
