I have the joyous journey in and out of London on the rush hour central line so only bring in the 40d if I've got a project or job lined up after work. The iPhone has to do for the rest of the time :)

Just had a quick play on the way home from work - managed to rope in a willing friend to pose (any excuse for a cigar!) :D The breeze kept blowing the smoke at me - pic was worth it despite it making my hair smell :gag:

Ah, ta :thumbs: I knew about the ISO but wasn't sure if there was also a similar function to the Nikon that I'd missed :)

Evening! :wave: Very quick question - is it possible to set a minimum shutter speed in AV mode on a Canon 40D? I was reading a photography book and the author (using a Nikon) said he used aperture priority most of the time and was able to set a minimum speed. Hadn't heard of this before....

I don't mind having pics taken of me out and about. Personally, I choose not to take pictures of children outside of an agreed session. Don't think there's anything wrong with it as long as permission is asked for.

Hello :) Depending how much time you have with them, I'd suggest not taking the camera out straight away. I took some pictures for a friend recently of her daughter and she wanted them to be as natural as possible - I just sat and chatted for a short while and then let her get on with...

Hello :) I'm looking to replace my standard Canon strap with another, more comfortable one...I'd prefer something that I can wear cross-body...something female-friendly!! ;) Not too fussed about it having pockets or 'attachments' to store things in - the main thing is comfort and security...
