    12v Battery Charger

I'll answer my own thread, hopefully this will be of use to others! 7DayShop.com do a range of battery chargers which run direct off 12volts and so can be charged from a 12v battery or from a cars cigarette lighter socket...

    12v Battery Charger

Because the instructions were probably written in Japanese and then converted to English by a translator. Unless you're an electronics expert, then a transformer and an inverter could be considered "the same".

    It's not quite that simple...

    12v Battery Charger

Yup, exactly what I've used in the past - they definitely work, though it doesn't seem like they're recommended - I'm wondering if anyone has actually ever had problems using them as I've not... I'm just wondering whether I've been lucky in the past, If I get half way into my 3 weeks holiday...

    12v Battery Charger

Unfortunately, no, those wouldn't charge a battery as high capacity as the 7D's, nor do they work with the type of contact on modern EOS batteries. The other problem with the solar chargers like that is that they'd take about 3 days to fully charge a modern dSLR camera battery. You'd need a...

    12v Battery Charger

Hi All, I'm going to be away for 3 weeks and both myself and my girlfriend will be taking our EOS's, a 7D and a 450D. In the past I've charged my batteries (30D charger) via an inverter, either off the car itself or from a small 12v car battery I use for camping. I noticed in the manual...

La Vie en Bleu @ Prescott Hill Climb

Presumably, you were the only can-can girl who was carrying a 100-400L* then? (May not have been that exact lens but I do recall one of the can-can girls having a camera with her!) I was there too for the weekend, have about 1200pics I've taken but haven't gotten through editing them yet...

Which company has the best quality set of lenses?

I used to be fairly happy with the IQ on my Tamron 18-250 lens when used on a EOS 40D body, however, once I moved to the 7D I started to see big differences between the Tamron and the 17-55 IS f/2.8. The quality of the body changes your opinion on the glass - using the 17-55 f/2.8 on your...

    Teleconverter help

I've used a Kenko 2x TeleConverter with the Tamron 18-270 and can confirm that it's manual focus only unless at the very wide end. Even then it's a little slow to focus. AF via LiveView will probably work fine, but that's probably not going to be acceptable depending on what you're doing...

Love mine, can't recommend it highly enough.

The universal trigger interface (The little box)

That's exactly the answer I was hoping for, awesome work :)

The universal trigger interface (The little box)

I keep meaning to build something similar with an Arduino I have knocking about. Not sure how bad the latency will be with the Arduino, but hopefully it should be short enough to catch most things (birds, bats etc). Be curious how your project is going :)

    Canon 60d vs 7d

Just adding to this thread - I'm also using the non-OEM "decoded" batteries and haven't had any problems with them. I've used eBay for batteries in the past but despite being a little cheaper, you have to be careful which seller you choose. I purchased mine from 7dayshop.com...

Oulton park 14th May, where did it all go wrong ?

That's a poor example, the OP clearly cares about the quality of his cake, hence he's asking for guidance. By the sound of it, the requester of the cake is perfectly happy with the burnt cake they got too, so really no need for anyone to have an attitude ;)

Oulton park 14th May, where did it all go wrong ?

I think this whole thread is a bit disappointing really. If this were a professional shoot, being paid for, then it's reasonable to expect a professional job to be done and for the photog to have took steps to ensure the quality of the work. But this was unpaid work with expectations set at...
