If you’ve got a Mac or an iPhone.. takes seconds to do in the photos app on either iPhone or Mac. Just hit edit and then trim either end.

Would it be worth looking at other models out there? For example, the Lumix FZ300 which has a much better lens (I have the Leica version of this). Video spec wise which seems to be your priority, Panasonic have the edge on their compact models, and I'd say the edge on a few things incl speed etc...

Canon R5 for me, together with the 800 RF and 100-400 RF and 70-300 L are my main wildlife kit, I am toying with a Nikon Z7 and Leica SL2 and a bit of micro 4/3. Overall though, R5 is undisputed.

Genuinely, M1 made a huge different to the speed. I'm still on a 2020 M1 MacBook pro but it blows my old 16 i9 64gb out of the water - seriously. I'm going to hold on to mine for 5 years and then will see what the game is for an upgrade. My only reason for upgrade would be for more SSD right...
