    Nikon's latest entry level DSLRs

Im afraid I cant help with any comparisons as im just a beginner but I can say that ive got a D3500 and I love it. Its got more features than I actually understand what to do with, and its good enough that my 8yr old can go off into the garden and within 5 minutes of picking it up for the first...

    The value of photography

Just being devils advocate here to try and work out whats going wrong (if anything)….. You’re sending out 50-100 emails a week and gets responses from ‘most’. You then reply with the prices, which could typically be around £300 and that’s where it ends? If correct then you have a clear break...

    Solo or in groups

Thanks for the replies. Its clear that most photographers like to pack their kit and go off on their own and I can clearly see the positives in that. Being newly separated, I’ve got free time on my hands (when I don’t have the kids) so its looking like a great hobby to have to fill my time up...

Car buyers should have 'long, hard think' about diesel

I firmly believe that a lot of the scaremongering is down to government and corporations financial situations and just using ecology as a lever to justify it. For eg…. My (now ex) wife bought a citroen c1 I 2015. This was within the new type of super city cars that they were encouraging us to...

    Solo or in groups

Being totally new to photography, im curious what the proportions are on whether people go off solo to an event/trip/walk etc and spend the day in their own company snapping away, or how many go out as a group. Ideally I’d like to be in the latter so I can learn but Im likely to be more solo as...

Beginner Took some photos of a Lion and polar Bears Nikon D3300

Great pics. I went on Easter sat with my 14 and 8 year old for our first photography trip. Got some great polar bear shots but the lions were just sun bathing in a hard to view spot. The tigers were also obscured under the trees so no shots there either

    Tripod for beginners

Thanks guys. Ive taken the plunge and gone for a Manfrotto Befree. Managed to picked up a used one with little use for £80 from one of the used photography companies. Seems to do everything I want after reading some reviews. They did talk about camera shake at max height on his £4000 camera so...

Beginner Total Beginner Nikon Lens advice

Thanks. Looking at the replies I cant understand half of the terminology so I think im maybe trying to run before walking and assuming I need a bigger lens for everything. I think i'll stick with my 300 for now and just work on understanding what the camera can do first. (we haven't done...

Beginner Total Beginner Nikon Lens advice

Thanks for the replies guys. Im a total newbie so ive no idea how much these things cost. My camera was £350 and my 300 lens was £125 which i thought was pretty reasonable. I did see some lenses for over £1500 which was quite scary!
