I have the 3880 myself and it's absolutely fabulous when you print an a2 print out! Anyway you can easily solve the wireless issue using withe power line adaptor or wireless adaptor.

I knew this a a bit late but thanks for the comments. Agreed on the horizon but the saturation tends to be lower when printed out so will just leave it as it is.

I'm slightly confused here as you said you want a portrait lens and you have the 70-200? That lens is superb for portrait especially at 200 end! Anyway you should have a look at the 85mm f1.4 or the 105mm DC if you are looking specifically for portrait lens.

It does have the half press focus. It's on the cable. There are two types of cables for connecting them. One comes with motor and the other one is just simple trigger.
