Telephoto lens? For those shots that are far away?

Maybe look towards the Tamron 70 - 300 mm it has vc, incredibly sharp lens and its cheaper than the nikon alternative and i would say better :) i use the tamron on a 3200, and it is an awesome set up.

Thanks for your tips and advice :) and i took it in raw mode, i then processed in lightroom, converted to black and white and played with the white, black, highlight and shadow sliders :)

Some really good shots, the meerkats look great!

I was there too on sunday, and was disappointed by the lack of movement by the snow leopards!

Graham, how does it work? is it quick focusing, and whats the zoom range like? are there any bad points to the lens?

im really interested in the tamron 70 300 lens for my d3200, however its a full frame lens, does this matter and will it still work on my camera? any advice welcome, thanks
