Try some natural lighting by a window for starters, it gives u a real feel for lighting a portrait :D

Well worth the investment when you have heavy kit:D

Just had a play in my back yard with the 24-70.... omg its razor sharp!!:D One draw back though.. and its prob the only draw back.. Weight!!! onwards and upwards eh!

I have been approached by a local musician to capture some images of up and coming bands in my local area. I have captured some nice pictures with my 70-200 2.8 in the larger venues but seem a little stuck to the back of the venue due to the focal length. I have a 35mm 1.8 which has been great...

Perhaps, if I had used my translucent window blinds the brightness would be more subtle? I know a diffuser would be the right way forward.

Thanks everyone for your input on these pics! We had so many pictures of my wee lass peering over, under and to the side of the black paper... made the shoot all the more fun! I have now invested in a lastolite dark background and I am looking for a good white one so I can cut my assistant's...
