An interesting set of images. All offer something worth seeing, but the second is, for me, the stand out shot - not too overpowering in terms of colour, good contrast (photographic and interest left/right), and strong, dynamic pattern.

Thanks Matt. I tried a few shutter speeds - slower was too "mushy", faster was too "normal", so this was the "Goldilocks speed" - just right (IMO :)).

I used a slow shutter to try to give this fast flowing, shallow, rocky river a greater sense of movement.

Thanks Matt. It appeared and I shot it with the long focal length lens on the camera. The only choices I made were to dial in some negative EV, to get it before some parked cars appeared in shot, and to include the big chestnut tree trunk. Simple it certainly is.

Thanks Andy & Dark Star. It was the single bright red spot of the Jaguar emblem set against the dark green bodywork reflecting the cloudy sky, with the chrome highlights that really appealed to me here.
