Hi all,
Some of you may have seen some of my posts already, but in the interest of getting more involved in the community I thought I'd officially say hi!
I currently Live in Christchurch and work in Portsmouth so generally around Dorset and Hampshire. Recently changed all my kit from...
By 1:1 do you mean a full power flash? With ETTL deciding I wouldn't know, unless the exif contains data on it. I can tell you with my relatively short lived experience with it I haven't had a situation where it hasn't had enough power. I shoot in manual and let ETTL do the rest - so it would be...
That is my understanding yes. I am sure the 580 as a master can trigger the 430 EX II as a slave in the same way the newer bodies can, but I don't know if the 580 does any more singing or dancing other than its increased range.
To be honest I am using my 430 EX II with a Canon EF-S 17-55 f/2.8...
If I understand you correctly, there is no reason you can't in the future upgrade to a 600D/60D/7D etc which has the wireless trigger functionality. You can also buy a wireless flash trigger for the 550D which plugs into the hotshoe - i'm sure someone else in the know will be able to recommend...
Thanks all.

I was quite pleased with the results considering the light conditions in most of the images. Any...

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated
A couple of shots from my recent trip to Munich. Handheld as I didn't take a tripod.
Would really appreciate some feedback, some non-portrait in the urban section (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=373218) too.

A few shots from my recent trip to Munich. First time out with most of my kit and I have had some good results and others a bit disappointing.
Everything was hand held as I didn't take a tripod.
Would really appreciate some feedback.

Wow, stunning shots. Were they all taken with the Zeiss 50mm f/1.4? All at max aperture?
Stunning detail for high(er) ISO shots and you must have a very steady hand, the first being taken at 1/40 and presumably 50mm focal length.
Congrats!
I have just returned from Munich on my first major trip out with my recent "upgrades". I have just switched over from a Micro Four Thirds Setup (I had an SLR previously, moved away to mirrorless and then back again ). Most of my gear I took on this trip was new so I thought it would be...
