Looking at getting a Canon Speedlite 430EX II but I have some questions

By 1:1 do you mean a full power flash? With ETTL deciding I wouldn't know, unless the exif contains data on it. I can tell you with my relatively short lived experience with it I haven't had a situation where it hasn't had enough power. I shoot in manual and let ETTL do the rest - so it would be...

Looking at getting a Canon Speedlite 430EX II but I have some questions

That is my understanding yes. I am sure the 580 as a master can trigger the 430 EX II as a slave in the same way the newer bodies can, but I don't know if the 580 does any more singing or dancing other than its increased range. To be honest I am using my 430 EX II with a Canon EF-S 17-55 f/2.8...

Looking at getting a Canon Speedlite 430EX II but I have some questions

If I understand you correctly, there is no reason you can't in the future upgrade to a 600D/60D/7D etc which has the wireless trigger functionality. You can also buy a wireless flash trigger for the 550D which plugs into the hotshoe - i'm sure someone else in the know will be able to recommend...

    Canon 5D Owners name frustration

I had the same issue on my 550D but changed it on-camera. The setting was under Copyright Information. Is there no such menu option on the 5D?

Great shots, particularly like the alteration on #1 you just posted. Well done. What kit do you shoot with?

Thanks all. I should add, for the last photo the lens tip was rested on a part of the window but I was holding the body - sorry if i misled anyone! I'd have to have hands of stone otherwise :D I was quite pleased with the results considering the light conditions in most of the images. Any...

Re exposure, I will have a bit of a tinker in Aperture. I guess the significance of the second one made it important to me, it's a real shame the background wasn't more interesting. Thanks for your comments, much appreciated

A couple of shots from my recent trip to Munich. Handheld as I didn't take a tripod. Would really appreciate some feedback, some non-portrait in the urban section (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=373218) too. Santa Claus by trickpic, on Flickr Dachau -...

A few shots from my recent trip to Munich. First time out with most of my kit and I have had some good results and others a bit disappointing. Everything was hand held as I didn't take a tripod. Would really appreciate some feedback. IMG_2210 by trickpic, on Flickr Marienplatz by...

    Vegas at night

Wow, stunning shots. Were they all taken with the Zeiss 50mm f/1.4? All at max aperture? Stunning detail for high(er) ISO shots and you must have a very steady hand, the first being taken at 1/40 and presumably 50mm focal length. Congrats!

Quick equipment review - Munich Winter Holiday (Canon, BlackRapid, Lowepro)

I have just returned from Munich on my first major trip out with my recent "upgrades". I have just switched over from a Micro Four Thirds Setup (I had an SLR previously, moved away to mirrorless and then back again ). Most of my gear I took on this trip was new so I thought it would be...

    Canon Lens Quality Control

Yep, both Canon UK dealers listed on the Canon website. I was considering going grey market initially but went for the full warranty instead.
