Correct. Needed the money for study materials. Sold dSLR and equipment totalling a few thousand pounds worth. Looking to buy a camera for a few hundreds pounds... the difference being used for study etc. I'm hoping people can understand that!

I'd love to keep all my kit but simply isnt an option - im now a student paramedic so neither have the time or the money for full on dSLR stuff... at least til Im qualified in three years time anyway. Off to Bluewater this afternoon so will visit Jessops and check out your recommendations...

Hi all Sadly, due to huge career change and new studying, I've had to offload my Canon dSLR and lenses. I dont want to completely lose my photography bug so I'm looking for a replacement... thinking possibly a bridge so looking for recommendations please. A G12 is an obvious choice but not...

Indeed they're not... hence why they get away with having a collection point the 'land' side of customs... (ie you buy the product, go on holiday and then pick it up when you arrive back) and why they can also post your items directly from the shop in the terminal to your home address, again...

I've also been looking at this. How did the student part work? Did you have to send off proof to Adobe? Bit difficult with the OU as you dont get an ID card etc...

I had a 1DMk2N... now I have a 5d and a 40d. Yes the 1d was a great camera and I'd love another 1 series body but it was so bleeding heavy, especially when hooked up with something like the 70-200 or 100-400! As mentioned before too, I also found the controls a bit fiddly.

Looking for an external monitor to link up to my Macbook and came across one of these at the weekend... Does anyone have any thoughts/experience of using one? The output looked good from what I saw and I liked the fact that it didnt have the glossy screen of the new screens Apple are currently...

Thanks. I think vCards only cover contacts though... I'm talking about the whole mailfile, so all the emails, folders etc as well as the contacts/calendar entries... If I'm doing Outlook to Outlook I'd use a .PST but am not sure if Mail can accept that or indeed how to do it...

Excellent thread and am really learning lots about my Macbook! Keep them coming! One thing I'd like covered, if possible, is how to migrate the information (ie email, address book, calendar) from an Outlook mailbox into Mail... can it be done?
