Ouch! I can see your worry now :) I tend to use a board in a light tent in the middle of a table, with paper backgrounds, so if things topple off the board, they only roll onto the table. Sensible precaution for me as I am a bit clumsy :)
Yes, spot on Mark, I didn't want the base cutting any further into the bowl of the cup, as it is very shallow & delicate & it would have taken away from it somehow, if you know what I mean.

Hi Just in a light tent in my conservatory with a piece of black card behind, so natural light & then just a case of adjusting the exposure to get the background an even black.
Been gardening all week, getting the garden ready for summer & decided to bring a couple of flowers inside to shoot yesterday.
